Meet Our Pastors

In 1999, Pastors Matthew and Sandra Carson attended Victory Bible Training Center in Nashville, TN. They completed their training in due season and received their ministerial diplomas where they prayerfully set out to use them to the glory of God. On March 7th, 2004, they pioneered and co-founded Spirit and Truth Worship Church located in LaVergne, Tn. STWC has been pastored steadily by the Apostolic couple for the last 15 years and look forward to many more people being saved, delivered and set free in Jesus as it continues to grow in the Lord.

Pastor Matthew (Matt) answered God's call to the ministry at a very young age. He has volunteered and worked in various aspects of ministry for more than 20 years, serving as a Board Member, Deacon and Youth Pastors at First Assembly of God Church in Shelbyville, TN. He has a real heart to see the youth of today reach their greatest potential in the Lord. Pastor Matt is a prophetic psalmist and allows Holy Spirit to flow through him in the prophetic with Words of Knowledge, Words of Wisdom and Prophecy. He is a gifted author, teacher and pastor and operates prophetically in writing anointed poems, songs and plays. He has a real passion for seeing God come to life in the creative arts in church. His heart's desire is to see the body of Christ sharing the good news of Jesus, His death, burial and resurrection and fulfilling their own ministry that God has called them to. Pastor Matt is a very down to earth man of God. He is real with sharing his own experiences with the body to show what God has taught him. He lives his life daily striving to be the best man of God, pastor and friend that he can be. A true example of a leader.

Pastor Sandra (Sandy) grew up primarily in the Methodist church singing in the choir and being involved with the youth ministry at her home church. A friend invited her to the Faith Assembly of God Church where she was saved. She met Pastor Matt when they were both around 18 yrs old and took the steps of dating very slow, getting engaged nearly two years later. The two learned early on that they shared a passion for music and served on Praise and Worship teams wherever the Lord has led them. Pastor Sandy is an anointed woman of God and prophetic Psalmist. He has blessed her with a kind, gentle and sweet spirit. The Prophetic Anointing of God operates strongly through her in Praise & Worship, but that is not where He stops in utilizing her gifts. She operates in Words of Knowledge through speech and through song with Words of Wisdom and Discernment. Spirit and Truth Worship Church is blessed to have her as our Co-Pastor.
